Techni Chrome Plating
I have this neighbor who owns a chrome plated 20 inch B&W RCA television with vacuum tubes that he paid $6K for, he added leather tassels to the knobs and huge speakers so everyone on the block can hear when he is watching tv. Also he likes to dress up in buckskin and a coon skin cap. He refuses to wave and acts all stuck up because I have a sony HDTV made in Japan and he says it's crap cause it only cost $1k and a B&W RCA made in America with genuine imported parts is the only TV worth owning. His friends from the RCA club come over an none of them are friendly either and all cop this attatude about their Americian made black and white TVs.
How do I talk sense to this guy, I tell him TV is better with color and high definition and he just wont hear it. Do you think there is some way to get him to get rid of the huge speakers and stop treating the entire neighborhood to the sound of Gunsmoke reruns? It scares the dogs.
Mojo is right....every time I watch the Discovery channel on my Sony high def all I can only think about how much cooler my neighbor's chrome RCA is and how well his coon skin hat covers his bald spot and how cool the RCA logo looks on the back of his buckskin jacket. At least I get to hear his TV while I'm watching mine..
is my hair going to frizz up? its a chrome plated curler with a thin barrel. I have pantene Holding hairspray. wat shud i do?
Are there any alternative finishes I can have done that are cheaper than chrome and have a chrome-like finish? Thanks.

http://youremblem.com/images/samples/3.jpg
The letters are separate and are chrome plated. How much would it cost to produce and chrome plate 500 letter assuming it is 1x2x.25 inch and are made of plastic?
I am replacing a utility sink in a 1969 house with cast iron sewer pipes.
Currently there is a lead pipe coming out of the wall, which is loosely attached to a chrome plated extension pipe that attaches to the trap. How can I either tighten the connection between the lead pipe and the chrome pipe or rip it out to the cast iron and get a seal between the cast iron and PVC drains?
The lead pipe connection to the cast iron appears to be solid, so if I don't have to break that apart it I think it would make life easier.
I have staggered exhaust and there is a chrome plate that decovrates the belt wheel and also the more rear exhaust pipe which is chrome and the aluminum alloy wheel. I am not looking to get special Harley bike cleaner. Anyone know any tricks to disolve stuck on exhaust that blackens bike parts?
What the heck do you do? I do chrome plating.
Was recently workin on a quite old central heating system and the existing 15mm copper pipe had a silverish/grey outer wall but was normal copper in the middle, it wasnt just like an chrome plated pipe it wouldnt clean up atall, wouldnt evan scratch off with a chisel ! it also had a very thick wall ( about 2mm). does anybody know what this could of been or why it was used ?
I found a chrome DS lite, and a gold one online. I don't really like how it looks though. I would like to just take off the casing and get it chromed, any ideas how I could do that? Chrome kits are expensive, are there places you can go and just have something small chrome plated, or dipped or whatever?
K so I got this pair of aviators which are pretty cool, however, they are pretty bland and dull looking.
My question-
How do newer aviators (or any pair of sunglasses) have that silver coating on the lense and you are able to see through it?
Is that silver coating something I would be able to apply to my current bland lenses myself and it look professional?
Where could I obtain said silver coating?
And I know you can chrome plate the rims but could I use the same said silver coating on the rims?
I just can't find any aviators that look as cool as these, I just wish these ones were silver/shiney looking. Thanks in advance!
I'm not talking about Tora Tora Tora, or any of the good Pearl Harbor based movies. I'm talking about the craptastic Michael Bay 2001 version. The special effects were somewhat nice, but to me it was like chrome plating a dog turd.
Not to be a twit, but worst WAR movies.. not all movies
I got an iPod Classic for Christmas, and today i brought it to school. I put it in my purse where i also have some bobby pins which scratches up the chrome plate on the back of the iPod. How can i get rid of the scratches??
And I looked on the website for the Apple Sauce Polish stuff and it said that it couldn't be used on the latest generation of iPods.. is the IPod classic in the latest generation??
Thank you for your help ahead of time!!

Also about how much would this cost?
So my squad is in a debate over wether or not Hoppe's No. 9 solvent is ok to use regularly on a US Army issue Colt M-4 Carbine.
One guy thinks it will pit the metal (the rest of us already know this is not true), but the real debate is on the effect it will have on the finish on the upper and lower receivers. How often can you use Hoppe's without it stripping the bluing off the rifle?
Also, it says on the bottle not to use it on nickel plated parts. Will it jack up the chrome plated bore?
For future reference, we don't use CLP over here as it attracts FAR too much dust and sand, no matter how sparingly you apply it. Graphite lubricants work really well, especially if they are in an alcohol-based (or other fast drying) medium.
As for Hoppe's 9 I've never hear a bad word about it aside from the fumes till yesterday. thanks all of y'all for helping us clear it up.

Can anyone tell me what materials can be chrome plated?
Can my new shower hose be connected directly to the valve outlet in my wall?
The old one had a chrome-plated attachment about 4" long in between, and the old hose used to be screwed into that.
The new shower set has no such "inbetween piece".
Was this just for decoration, or did it do something? Water pressure seems fine when I just screw the hose into the valve on the wall.
Any advice?
My friend does preaching for his church all the time and goes on trips to Japan to convert people, but it wasn't till recently that they got him a new Toyota Avalon with 20 inch chrome plated rims. The car is an extravaganza to say the least. It gives him the look of being a wealthy man. In fact, every time he preaches he goes out in nice suits with shiny jewelry.
I know the churches make a lot of money in what their doing, but this all somehow seems wrong to me.
Movies and TV have made killer robots a have become a major part of science fiction ya gotta love em from the tin cans from the 30's horror flicks, the chrome plated cylons , the unstoppable terminators, Sentinels from the Matrix, to HAL9000
but they can't all be the best so which 10 do we love most?

police officer.
The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.
He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed,

policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the

i'd like to find someone trustworthy to do chrome plating and metal finishing in alabama.
Three guys go into a bar: a guy from Dallas, a guy from San Francisco, and a guy from Boulder. They drank and got a little rowdy. Suddenly, completely without warning, the Texan grabbed a bottle of tequila, unscrewed the top, took a good swig, and threw the bottle into the air. He then jerked a Colt .45 pistol out of his pocket and shot the bottle, spraying tequila all over everything and everybody.
The patrons at the bar shouted, "Hey, bud, why'd you waste that tequila?"
The Texan said, "Heck, it's just tequila. Us Texans go across the border all the time and get all the tequila we want."
Not to be outdone, the Californian whipped out a corkscrew and uncorked a bottle of wine. He poured some into a glass, swirled it, sniffed, commented on the tart insolence of its bouquet, sipped, tossed the bottle in the air, nicked it with a round from a silly little chrome-plated pistol, and showered a couple of patrons at the bar with wine.
The patrons, upset by the casual waste and general lack of concern for their safety, expressed their displeasure and astonishment, to which the Californian replied, "Well, I'm from Napa Valley, and we have more than enough wine where I come from."
The Boulderite, a quiet observer up to this point, touched the crystal hanging from his neck, adjusted his Birkenstocks, flipped back his ponytail, put down his guitar, and borrowed a bottle opener from the bartender. He popped the top off a bottle of Fat Tire beer, hammered it back, threw the empty bottle into the air, pulled a 9mm Beretta, took careful aim, shot both the Californian and the Texan, and caught the falling bottle.
The patrons screamed in utter disbelief, "Why'd you do that?"
The Boulderite replied, "I'm from Colorado. We've already got too many Texans and way too many Californians, but glass bottles, now those can be recycled!"
Tire guy had to grind bubbly off rim, but said that I can expect to see deterioration of visible chrome too in near future.
Is this common?
Is there a recall on rims?
What do I do to prevent it from happening on other rims?
Anything I can do now to minimize the problem
This was the third time I had it back to him for the same slow sleak problem. Haven't lost pressure in two weeks, so I think he solved the problem, FOR NOW! But it sure looked ugly and scary considering my driving at 65 mph frequently.
chrome plated rims
Basically I was looking at: Granite Alloy LK1H "Chrome Plated". Do you think the "Bright Silver Paint" finish is any better? Thanks a lot! Recommendations welcome for nice rims (like this one) for a 2000 Toyota RAV4 (not too expensive). Appreciate it!

Any idea on how chrome plated wheels will do in NYC winter weather?
what are the wheel locks? they are $54 and the description says:
With Honda's wheel locks, you can protect your custom rims or even the stock ones. They're a great theft deterrent.
Special key configuration requires a unique wrench to remove the wheels.Chrome-plated, triple nickel finish for a brilliant shine and to help prevent corrosion.
what does this mean? =)
A mild-mannered man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in frustration and flipping him a bird and shaking her fist as she missed her chance to get through the intersection. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. I've never seen it, but I've got a Plumbing foreman that swears it's a code. I can't find it in the code book though. I'm specifically talking about the drianage pipes attached to the strainers that dump into the floor drain. He asked me to replace the 2" PVC pipes I installed with the old 1 1/2" tubular chrome plated stuff he originally had installed. Any licensed plumbers out there care to comment?
I just bought a new Dodge Charger RT. but I live in Canada, and was wondering if the winters would wear down my grille faster than it should?
I will be buying a triple chrome plated grille. Should I worry?
I want to get the both sides of my 1992 Kawasaki Vulcan VN1500A's engine covers chrome plated. Currently they are a mess and don't look good at all. I believe the current covers are aluminum. Any thoughts? I've tried to google it and use the yellow pages, but I'm coming up empty.
I just ordered some new polished aluminum rims for my truck because I've had problems with chrome plating peeling off chrome rims in the past. I've heard many products can take the finish off polished aluminum and was wondering what is the best product to use without taking away the shine?
What is the difference between chrome rims and chrome plated rims or are they both the same? I been looking for some new rims for my ride and just dont know the difference or even if there is a difference. Thanks for the help
The watch itself iis fine and works well but the outer case, scratched and worn, needs to be re-chrome plated. I am in in the Woking/Staines area.
A small job, I know but would really like to use the watch in all its glory.
Thanks Tipper. You're probably right but the watch was my late mum's and has sentimental value to me. Thanks anyway.
